Park Hill
Baron Allois von Winckler, a Prussian who arrived in Denver in 1884, platted Park Hill in 1887 on land east of City Park, and the neighborhood's name reflects its nearby park and its place on the gentle rise onto the high plains east of the Platte River Valley. Greater Park Hill runs from Colfax Avenue to 52nd Avenue east of Colorado Boulevard, with homes from Victorian to Arts and Crafts to mid-century, and the Carnegie-funded Park Hill Branch Library on Montview Boulevard.
